Selling a used Gaui Crane 3 camera gimbal and DJI F550 mounting plate in great working condition. Asking $200, which includes priority shipping via USPS to conus.
This gimbal has served me well and is a great entry into aerial still photography for several reasons...
- It mounts very easily...
Well I put my dilemma to rest... I've decided to rebuild my 650 with the integrated f550 board. I was pretty happy with the flight characteristics prior to my little crash. Thanks for all the feedback everyone!
So if I'm hearing you all right, you're suggesting a pdb? :)
Anyone know what the f550 integrated board is rated at? Guessing at least 180 amps since they kit it with 30 a escs

Hey all,
Where does everyone stand on using a power harness instead of a power board? I'm leaning towards the wire harness for a new medium lift quad (3kg auw). I'm using 940kv motors and 30a escs on a 3s2p setup. Thanks.
I can say from personal experience that the board will be destroyed in a crash with the aluminum arms. Top plate cracked in three places and two on the bottom plate. Here's the crash:

I normally wouldn't continue flight with these oscillations but I climbed up over that tree a bit faster than I would have liked. When it leveled out briefly I thought it may be good but then well, you see what happened.
It wasn't a maiden. I previously had really solid flights with the same...
Had a major crash yesterday on my hex. Lots of carnage and smoke! Now if I only knew what went wrong.... Thoughts?
I haven't fired up my Naza again - if it comes to life, think I should still use it?
Totally agree about the arm extensions. I added the extended aluminum arms from ReadyMade RC to my F550 as well upgraded the motors. It's essentially a 650 now. With 12" props, 2 3S 4000mah lipos in parallel and AUW of 3kg I get over 12 minute flight times. Included on my rig are a Gaui crane 3...
Thanks for the feedback guys and sorry for the delayed reply...
I agree that a cradle type gimbal may be a better option even though the trend seems to be the single-sided versions. I also believe in buying things once (within reason). While I'd love to go for a high-end gimbal, I have to be...
Greetings, Rourke and welcome.
The following thread may help you in determining if the F550 is going to be a good machine for you. Personally, I agree that it's a fantastic place to start. Good luck!

Hey all,
I'm looking to update the gimbal for my Sony NEX and considering purchasing the Asterix Brushless gimbal from BambuCopters.com - http://www.bambucopter.com/asterix-brushless-gimbal/
Has anyone dealt with them? I'm a bit leery as there is no contact info and I can't say I've seen their...
