Well I put my dilemma to rest... I've decided to rebuild my 650 with the integrated f550 board. I was pretty happy with the flight characteristics prior to my little crash. Thanks for all the feedback everyone!

Hey all, Where does everyone stand on using a power harness instead of a power board? I'm leaning towards the wire harness for a new medium lift quad (3kg auw). I'm using 940kv motors and 30a escs on a 3s2p setup. Thanks.

Totally agree about the arm extensions. I added the extended aluminum arms from ReadyMade RC to my F550 as well upgraded the motors. It's essentially a 650 now. With 12" props, 2 3S 4000mah lipos in parallel and AUW of 3kg I get over 12 minute flight times. Included on my rig are a Gaui crane 3...

I don't think it can be said enough times but when cutting battery wires, CUT ONE AT A TIME. :) I think it's a great idea to watch a few videos of lipo fires to drive home the respect for these volatile batteries. Keep them stored in a cool dry location and make sure to not drop or puncture...
