Cinestar X8 & Wookong-M & Cinestar 3-axis gimbal build

I have to start the thread with some questions regarding the setup as I am about to start building it and don't know exactly what do I need. Plan is to build a copter that eventually will be able to lift RED Scarlet

My setup is going to be:

- Cinestar X8
- Wookong-M (this I already have in a F550 which is my practice frame)
- KW8 motors from Kopterworx
- Power Hungry Systems 400A distro board
- KW60E Advanced Escape or Maytech 60A - Opto V1 ESC from Kopterworx
- Xoar 13.6.5 propellers
- Cinestar 3 axis camera gimbal and Radian stabilizers

The questions:

1. Does the Cinestar X8 with normal length booms have enough room for 13x6.5 propellers? What is the biggest prop size in diameter one can mount into normal Cinestar X8 booms?
2. About DJI Wookong and Power Hungry board: What - if any - additional plates etc. do I need to mount the Wookong and powerboard and also the flight batteries? Links please.
3. Should I choose KW60 or Maytech 60 ESC from Kopterworx? Kopterworx ESC has BEC which is unnecessary. Can it cause problems (noise to video etc.) as it is probably has a switching BEC? Maytech does not have a BEC.

Stock Cinestr comes with 45cm booms, and if you use them in flat configuration, 14" will be the biggest prop you can use.

But, you are using X8 setup, so you're good to use 15" props.

Are you sure kw8s are enough for a RED? I was under the impression kw9s or 10s were the recommend set up. Might be worth emailing kopterworx and asking

Ryan: On the latest Kopterworx Vimeo video this statement was given by Kopterworx:

"KW9 are not heavy lift, KW8 and KW10 are heavy lift and extreme lift"

Also it is stated in the comments by Kopterworx that the video´s setup should be able to lift RED easily. So I think KW8 should be enough. The video is here:

The frame arrived and I managed to get it built. Quality and instructions were up to the price, i.e. very good.

To mount the Power hungry board I needed some plastic standoffs, screws and bolts I had left from my Mikrokopter/Droidworx AD-6 build.
The power board came with a few standoffs but not enough to mount it. I would like to see some above mentioned screws and bolts for mounting as well to come with the power board kit.

The Kopterworx motors fitted the motor mounts great and they have bullets soldered in, so the only thing I had to solder was the bullets to the Maytech ESC battery wires. Maytechs already had bullets to motor wires soldered.

I have another top plate in addition to the one the ESC is on in the picture. The first picture on the left is mine. The other two are examples of how the second top plate has been mounted on top of the first one.

I only have four 550mm aluminium standoffs to mount the second top plate and all the Wookong-M stuff and two 8000mAh 5s batteries come on top of the second top plate.
I wonder if the four standoffs are enough to support all this weight and to make the second top plate flex free. Besides I only have one battery plate, the one provided with the frame. Should I have another or try to mount the batteries directly to the plate? The structure gets very tall when all the three plates and battery plates are installed. Any opinions/ideas?

A friend of mine milled me these very nice carbon-fiber mounting plates for the top plate of my Cinestar. I am planning to mount all the Wookong-M components on the plates.

A question: Is it advisable to use the M3 rubber vibration dampeners to mount the IMU? I am going to place the IMU under the battery tray and as you can see, there are vibration dampeners there.

Dont use rubber under IMU.
