mine all seperate with one hand,,,,,,,, finger tip and a finget tip with the rest in my palm.... if yours aren't, you soldered em wrong and there actualy at risk of loosing connection and crashing when them bars get missaligned so there hard to put-pull apart

kloner what do you think about them rated only up to 50 amps, wouldn't XT60 or EC5 connectors make sense, since I'm thinking if Im pulling 20 amps per motor that's like 80 amps right there.

your only pulling 20 amps total....... i pull 60-70 amps continuous on em all the time,,, never seen a problem

this is a sustained 60 amp draw......2-3 weeks ago

and that was the second pass down the tracks that pack,,, 4000mah 4s 40c

wow, sweet video!!! Seemed like that was 4 miles or something. were you flying at that speed with goggles or your 7" monitor?

i won't even touch a 30c or less pack,, it is available amps, not something it's forcing out... like your house has 150amp service with 15 amp breakers and you can put a 1 watt bulb on and it doesn't blow up

same with a car,,, etc.

a c rating is a measurement we all relate to known as internal resistance. lower that number the more available current. when them numbers are lower, it last longer, runs cooler, everything good...... i have 30c, 40c and 60c packs for these things.....

3000mahlipo x 40C / 1000 = 120A
5000mah lipo x 30C / 1000 = 150A
2200mah lipo x 25C / 1000 = 55A

Isn't the 5000mah better, it has more available current and it would run cooler?

I've decided enough is enough, I can't stand pulling these deans connectors apart. What connector do you guys recommend?

I did some research and was surprised Deans is only rated up to 50 amps continuous load: http://www.rchelicopterfun.com/rc-lipo-batteries.html

Dean plugs are a relict from the past.....I replaced everything from 2S up to 4S with XT60 plugs, 5S and 6S got EC5 ...and now I am happy. With the EC5 you must just watch out...you get them with banana plugs or with bullet plugs. Bullets will last you longer...

there is a point where too big makes the flights shorter form extra weight. in your case, a stock f450 won't even barely lift a 5000mah pack and fly..... i just set one on a scale, 1lbs, 4 oz......

these are all good for what your trying to do

something like those will get you going with lots of cycles for cheap and will let you form your own opinion....

Yea, but I've upgraded the motors to 2814 suppos, so lifting a 5000mah should be possible. Total weight would be around 2100 grams.

oh, crap that's right. I can carry 2500g easy

yea it's a size you can fly....... those gens ace packs are really hard to beat. they take a lickin and keep on tickin

yea, im currently using the stock adapters and I'm kinda afraid of the props flying off, but I've been tightening them really really hard. But aren't the grub screw adapters like the same, too much weight and they could fly off.

I feel your pain. The REAL Deans can be tough to pull apart because of the smooth housing.
Some of the Deans Copy cats have little ridges on them which really helps, but I don't trust them.
Try this:
Take a pencil soldering iron, get it nice and hot and use the sharp point to make some VERY SMALL indentations on both sides of the Deans housing.
Works GREAT. Now there is much more grip and they pull apart way easier.
