custom S800

What do you think about this motors for a custom S800 setup on a different frame?
DJI motors are quite expensive and I was thinking about this alternative.
I would run on 6S and 30A esc. Or should I go 40A?

If you have a different frame and are not going to use DJI motors, how do you end up with an S800?

wouldnt it just be a heavy lift hex running at 6s then?
the only thing that makes an s800 an s800 is the dji markup, the expensiveness of all the parts, and the ability to turn in to a brick.

I am very satisfied with the endurance and power of s800. Thats why I would like to use the same electronics. But I would choose some lighter and also foldable frame.

Should I go with BEC or NO BEC 50A

no Bec, no reason for extra noise or any components on the ESC that could effect the ESC what its mainly there for controlling your motors !

And the chart of the 50a version is stragen but it looks like the 50A with Bec version only take up to 3s strange one

those are esc features. it shutting down with loss of signal is it's internal failsafe. it's the way most everything is, when it's not setup like that people complain it's unsafe

the slo down at 3.0 is a problem, that will eventually shut one motor off if the LVC is all turned off in WK and you overfly a pack to lower than 3 volts a cell... under a load, that's a pretty easy number to hit with a low battery

you will want to reflash them with simonK firmware if you wan figure out how. Theres a cable just for the rctimer esc's that makes it easy....... at hobbyking
