Flying in wind

Today, I took out my new Y6 and gave it some tests in 10-16mph. right off the bat it flew much better than the hex did. I converted the same hex into the Y6 so all the components are the same making it a great test. I wont go into how great the Y6 is as there is already a thread for that. I have my gains at 225/225/130/120 basics at 50. I seem to have less yaw issues with the gains higher but it really makes it hard not to get a twitch when doing slow pans or maneuvers. This leads me to some questions.

First, I didnt feel like I would have been able to push into much more wind than this. My cyclic was almost completely full forward into the wind to maintain authority. If you crank up the gains does this make it have more authority in wind or is it just going to make it so twitchy it isnt worth it?

Second is the relationship between basics and attitude gains. I remember someone saying if you turn up the atti gains to turn down the basic gains. from what I know, the atti gains are how much it reacts and the basic gains are the rate at which they react.

Third question is, once you get your settings dialed in for flying in decent winds, do those same settings give you a million dollar shot when it is dead calm?

Overall I am very impressed with how the DJI WKM handled the winds today with the Y6 config. I love that you can fly higher and still tell which is front/back. And no prop ever showed up even in full forward cyclic. So far the new firmware still seems to have a twitchier yaw but I think I am working it out slowly. clearly the Y6 config takes a little more patience getting the settings right.

Yep, I can confirm flying in wind with my new CX8 is much better than my previous hexa. On Saturday we had very strong winds on the model airfield and only the guys with large >4m airplanes took of the ground. Then I was curios to see if I can fly the CX8 and yes it was possible to fly at least in manual mode without camera.
I've tried to use GPS position hold, but that was not possible the CX8 based on Mikrokopter electronics drifted slowly with the wind.
The day after the wind calmed down a little bit and I did another test flight with the camera, see below:
Btw. this is the CX8:

those motors are cool, would just need a long shaft between the two, no?

i love flying in wind. it's my only option
