FPV Goggles.... types and brands?

I'm wanting to get Fat Shark Dominator's. Has anyone found goggles you like better? I'm going to be using them in 1.3GHz so the built in Rx is not a problem with not having or having built in Rx. I see all kinds of type/brands and would like to hear from people who has used these along with others.

Thanks!

Added.... anyone using the Vuzix iWear WRAP920's?

i got the predators, but have em in a goggle mod and the goggle mod was the ticket for me. kinda hot, but versus that hard plastic thing hanging on your face is no problem. almost all the different brands will go into goggles. i read somewhere theres suppose to be hd goggles coming out soon, and if is true, used gear is gonna be everywhere cheap in no time

I have both the Fatshark Base edition and the Dominator. I like the built in RX with the Dominators, I'm not tied to any other gear by cables which makes flying FPV so much easier and the rubber eyepeices that they have are a step up from the old foam around the edges of the base edition. What I don't like about the Dominator vs. the base is the interpupillary distance is fixed on the Dominator and adjustable on the base. I find the spacing of the Dominator screens just a shade too narrow for me and I don't get a crisp, clear inages across the entire field of view like I can by adjusting the distance properly on the base edition.

If I could have the best of both in the same set of goggles I'd be 100% happy, as it is I like the base because they can be adjusted to where I need them to be but the screen images aren't quite as sharp as on the Dominator. I like the built in RX of the Dominator and the better light blocking of the rubber eyepieces but have to focus on the parts of the screen that are clearest for me which effectively reduces the usuable field of view. What I do see clearly is sharp with good contrast and color, unfortunately it's not as much as I can see with the base edition.

If you're seriously thinking of the Dominators you should try and find someone nearby that has a set that you can try first to see if the fixed screens are a problem for you. If I had been able to try them out first I wouldn't have bought them, I would have stayed with the set of base edition I already had until something better came along.

I have the Foxtech goggles and my friend has Fatshark so I've been able to try them both. For clarity I prefer my Foxtech but I think the Fatshark are a bit more comfortable to wear. I had to trim the rubber frame on the Foxtech for more comfort especially around my nose (no its a normal sized nose). I use the internal 5.8 receiver for local park flying but it's not that sensitive so I use external receivers for longer distance. The Foxtech also has built-in pan and tilt with one of the better return-to-centre systems around.

Vizux 920's mounted in ski goggles. I like the adjustable diopter and with them in the ski goggles they are very comfy. Though my wife tells me that they will be taking me away from the park where I fly and my children would have me committed if they saw me.

I have only been out about 500 feet with them so far and I run a diversity set up with a clover leaf antenna and a patch antenna. It is going to take being out a lot further than that to trigger the dreaded blue screen. When I start flying out that far it will be with my WKM with RTH.

I'm going to do a diversity set up after I get everything going. I just got everything ordered but goggles and antenna's. :tennis:

The fixed interpupillary distance is realy a great problem. My glasses specialist told me my distance and sad it's important to see the full screen clear. I can't inderstand, that the goggles manufacturer ignore this fact. For example the Fatschark Dominator distance ist 63.5 mm and by distance ist 68 mm. Therefor I'm looking for other products. Does anyone now if the distance of the following googles are adjustable?

are you guys talking about the width or depth?

you can change the depth distance mounting any of these in goggles.

Width, the Fatshark base edition have sliders that allow the screens to be moved closer or further apart depending on need. I have the screens as far apart as they can go on my base editions and it's perfect, the Dominator are too close together for everything on the screens to be clear for me.

If I weren't so unwilling to hack into a $300 set of goggles I could probably find a way to fix the problem, for now I'll just live with it. I find once I'm in the air and flying the parts of the screen that aren't so clear are where the OSD data is. If I just look slightly to the right or left I can read it clearly so it's not a deal breaker, I just focus on the middle of the screen for the most part to see what the camera is seeing and occasionally look to the sides to check the OSD stats.

I can't understand why they would leave interpupillary distance adj. off the Dom and Pred models, I like the eye cups over foam, but I'm afraid they'll not fit my eyes. How about the Aviator Edition????? or the Base.
