A great match-up! The bottom end of the XA is the best part about the Hexa, the only lacking area is that I would love to have the heavier arms and clearance between plates that DJI Hex offers.
I'm still playing with mine, so only using one 5000mah 4s now, buy plan on going to 2 of them, as it can easily handle more weight being added, so seeing how you mounted yours was good timing.

How do you like the Sunex lens on your GoPro? Any chance to post a vid, see what it looks like thru the camera, ( something else I'm considering )?

Sunex lens on a GoPro is very good. It takes away much of the fisheye effect. I like it! Have assembled it so that I can take both regular and macro images. (just by turning the lens between two marks). One of my hobbies is to combine multiple images into panoramas. The examples under are taken with the GoPro.

My Wookong-M, I will move over to the new S800. Has a Naza on a F450 that I'm moving to the F550. Perhaps I install something FPV with the Naza. I will among other use the S800 and a Sony NEX to take panoramic pictures in the mountains around where I live.

This F550/GoPro project was to test the possibilities of moving a camera to "hard to reach" areas.

Got hold of a 3mm plexiglass plate. 4 layers glued together. Cut out and drilled a hole corresponding to the origianle the GoPro case. Glued on GoPro box. Used clear epoxy. I have tested in water. 100% waterproof!

Oylore, how are you getting on with the XA 2X mount?
I like your DJI/XA hybrid, best of both worlds there. Also like your case mod for sunnex lens.
