DJI Flamewheel

Well I got my DJI Flamewheel flying and it is super stable hands off hovering. It drifts a little more than my quad with the WKM but I would expect that with no GPS. I did my first loop with it today in Manual Mode, what a rush. I added the orange ball so I could keep good orientation during aerobatics. I'm running Scorpion motors and FunFly ESC's.

wow, so they do work after all. I guess I should have gone to electrical engineering instead of mechanical. I still cant get the software to recognize anything.

Yes they do. I have a small $350.00 windows 7 laptop that I just leave out in the garage for my NAZA, WKM and the controllers on my Heli's. That is terrible that you are having all that trouble. I have been following your post about it.

again and again I try going through it hoping something will magically be different. I just cant pull it off. I always get the same message when manually installing the driver it doest find any hardware to update. Maybe windows 7 is the answer.

Did you try to install Windows XP mode with your Windows 7?
I use it with my Windows 7 laptop; works fine and easy.
You can download Windows XP mode from here : http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx

Is this the driver you are trying to install? which version?

Which file name are you clicking to start the install?

Windows XP sp3 native, no win7. I have done everything recommended to me. I have tried uninstalling everything. If I run only the .bat there is nothing. I have to manually install the driver using the add new hardware. Then once the yellow flag is present in device manager I manually update it-again. This is all occurring with the MC plugged into the PC with the battery, lights flashing. Every time I get a message saying that it cant find hardware to update but the driver is installed. The assistant has no connection, everything is grayed out.

Today I will try doing the same procedure with my WKM which has not been opened as I was so frustrated I was just going to return everything. I am leaning towards product damage at this point. And if for some reason i do get it to work, I think it is completely unacceptable for a product to be this hard to install. I figured my issues would be with settings not a usb driver.

.

I don't think it's a DJI problem since it seem to me that the driver installer don't start properly.
When you click the . bat you must have a black (DOS) windows with a message asking you if install can take place.
Here is the content of the . bat open with notepad.exe

source\DPInst.exe /F /SE /LM /SH
REG DELETE "HKLM\Hardware\Devicemap\Serialcomm" /v Winachsf0 /f
@echo off
echo please reboot your system!
#shutdown -r

You may do a copy of that if your .bat does not contain the same.

Tell us - after that - if you obtain the black windows with the question.

I suppose you have a folder named "source" into the same folder as the .bat.

I have also noticed that the driver is not signed and you need to override windows security in the install. I tried the bat file and it did not work for me. However, when I did a manual install, and told windows to install anyway, it worked fine. My machine is a Win XP SP3 cheepo netbook that I only use for application that I can't use on my Mac.

I had loads of mither loading it at first could not figure it out.. was on Phone to Geoff at QC.uk for ages but I still got error messages.. I then went back and reread the instructions and I was clicking on the wrong file!.. As soon as I clicked on the correct file NOT SETUP.. as would be logical as a Mac user it installed first time but I cant for the life of me remember which one I clicked on! Oh and its running on my Mac in Bootcamp with windoze xp sp2

OK! So i tried 3 different PC's and 3 different USB cables. nothing works. So i wired up the WKM and tried it. Instantly recognized. cancelled install ran the .bat. I'm up and running no problems at all. NOW the problem with the WKM is it keeps telling me my email is the wrong format. Its the same conformed email as I registered before. Just cant win. So do i assume the NAZA is defective? Clearly things work as the instructions say on the WooChang.

I have just finished my flame wheel and am having a bit of a problem trying to stop a diagonal wobble. Can you let me know what your autopilot setting are at please. I am using a Naza.

Many thanks
