Electronics and GPS layout

Hi all
just want to share my solution in WKM electronics layout. After a first testbed now I've built a new quadricopter, but wanted to keep everything as neat as possible and the GPS antenna protected inside the dome.
I tried my best to organize every cable to keep some order with all those wires, also thinking about shielding the components from interferences.
Now, after the maiden flight, I can say it all payed: fast GPS acquisition with about 1 minute cold start and 10 seconds hot start, no white flashes at all (IMU secured with simple adhesive tape, not the foam one), and perfect flight behaviour!:untroubled:

The dome, from an indestructible salad bowl, now has received a better finish and some holes near the ESCs..

Nice job Pierluigi.. Any pics of the whole quad?

Dave

Thank you Dave!
Here are some more shots.
A foamed PVC sheet (Palit) hosts the electronics in a removable plate. This plate has a layer of car repairing metal adhesive tape underneath.
The GPS is removable ( I have drilled the rod and M3 threaded the alu mount) and is shielded by a disc of the same PVC sheet material, also with metallic tape, this time in the upper side.
The HW Platinum ESCs are between the fiberglass PCB main plates
Above the Gopro mounting shelf will go the 5,8Ghz TX.
The very light removable landing gear has to be refined, just a temporary solution.
Cheers
Pierluigi
