Mikrokopter MK Transparent cover alternative?

Spiralling out of control
I’ve just finished my MK Quad XL build, TorxPower motors are so smooth with Gruapner E-props, so pleased with it, except for the MK transparent cover. What a load of shiite, must be the worst waste of 25 beer tokens ever. I was wondering what people are using as an alternative?

Thanks.

Tahoe Ed,

Yes, they are looking really good and real sterdy at 1/8" much better for only $15.00 more, thanks. I will try to find something similar here. In the meantime I'm off to the supermarket Dave, that would work well.

Ugh....I added shipping to Canada and it will cost me $76 for a piece of plastic. I need to find a better option. My stock cap is cracked and broken and held together with packing tape. Not the prettiest but it gets the job done.

Go online and do a search for surveillance camera domes. You may be able to come up with some less expensive options.

You could try here as well, the less expensive ones are out of stock at the moment... http://www.nghobbies.com/cart/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=59_119_157&sort=20a&page=3 or you could talk to these folks, they'll make you exactly what you want and ship from NB if you're in Canada... http://www.cleardomes.com/ I ordered my first dome from them a little over a year ago and later I ordered one of Ziggy's domes, turns out they're the same thing. Don't know if he still is, but at the time he was ordering them from the same place.

Try HERE. They also cut holes and paint them for you as well.

Thanks for the info, guys!

Anything from Europe is out of the question, unfortunately, as I would pay an additional 30% duty. I think the plastic dome business is the one to be in. The margins must be huuuuuge :)

Dollar store plastic (`tupperware`)container, some have a decent shape and dirt cheap, way way stronger then the stock canopy.

Thanks, holco, but those would be $80-90 to my door as well. Nice looking bird, btw.

I got a quote for two tinted domes from cleardome.com. It was $115.70 shipped and including tax.
