Sport pilot VS private pilot and 333 exemption

Regarding the 333 exemption, I can't determine if I can apply for the 333 with a sport pilot license as opposed to a private pilot ticket. Has anyone applied with a sport pilot license?

You don't need a license at all to submit a petition for 333 exemption. However the operating limitations issued will require that the UAS PIC hold at least a Recreational or Sport Pilot certificate. No medical is required as long as you have a valid driver's license.

I spent time talking with a lawyer regarding this on Friday afternoon, you're right, you can apply for the 333 without a pilots license but will need to hold a Sport Pilot, Recreational Pilot or Private Pilots certificate to fly for commercial reasons. At least that's the way it is for now.

When you file your 333 paperwork, you can include several airframes. Each one mush have it's own N numbers.

Make sure you include all of the aircraft you intend to use.... adding additional aircraft is a bit of a pain and can take quite long...
