New GoPro Lineup... Well this sucks for me!

So about 3 months ago I sucked it up and bought the $400 worth of Gopro hero 3 black edition.
Great camera for the price, loved it since I bought it.
Being GoPro, they never announce products until the release day. So just recently they have released their hero3+ lineup with the black edition being the top item.
Have to say I am a bit frustrated that I bought the old hero 3 black as the new one is just now out.
I am not mad because the new version is lighter and smaller.
I am not mad because the wifi is faster and such.
Nor am I mad because the new camera has a case that is easier to open.
I am mad at myself because the new HERO3+ has a much sharper lens, low light mode, longer battery life (though the camera charges off my copter), less barrel distortion and a slightly wider setting available.

I will never be able to look at my H3-B's photos and pictures without thinking about the lack of sharpness it has comparatively. GAHHHH :livid:

Thoughts?

Mr take no prisoners!
Yep agree but we just have to suck it up, save up our pennies and buy one or two and start the whole thing all over again, in the mean time enjoy what you have, it is still pretty damn good. :livid:

By the way I bought my GP2 the week before the GP3 came out, been beta testing til about two weeks ago when the V3 firmware arrived and fixed everything. gaaaaaaagh!!

Cheers

Well you could spend some time playing with the cineform software and get a result that is probably just as good for all intents and purposes without spending your money.

what I really need to do is just get my own heavy lift dslr setup. Was looking at the nikon d5200 and tarot frames.
I work with an aericam X6 weekly but it is the companies so it doesn't get to go home with me or to any of my for fun shoots

Regarding: "I am not mad because the new version is lighter and smaller."

Turns out the 3+ naked camera is not smaller, dimensions are the same. It is reported to be 2-3g lighter. Still looking for definitive report of weight of 3 vs. 3+ with and without respective stock batteries. Size and wt reduction claims for 3+ appear to be based upon smaller and lighter new waterproof case. Bit misleading marketing copy on this point.

I feel your pain, but with technology progressing so fast, something better is always just around the corner. At least the form factor is unchanged and looks like many H3 gimbals will be able to support H3+, perhaps with some minor mods or adjustments to get perfect balance. However limiting factor for my aerial video quality is still me.

It being smaller and lighter probably means it wont work in the Zenmuse either..so just wait I bet there will be a new version of that coming out soon..hopefully 3 axis ...one hopes... its hard to keep up..

heh, welcome to the world of technology my friend, everything we buy with regards to tech is

a) rarely ever well tested and complete
b) out of date the second it arrives through your letterbox.

Unfortunately we are a world of beta testers! If you thought about it too much, you'd never buy anything as you'd always be waiting for the next release :)
