Tau Labs CC board initial setup

My CC board arrived in the mail yesterday, last night I mounted it on the frame and started the initial setup. Everything went well until I got to the firmware load, thats when the problems started. I went through several cycles of trying to get to the point of being able to boot the board after the firmware load with no success. After a couple tries I found that closing the GCS and reopening got me to the next setup step but it seemed each time I'd complete a step I couldn't progress beyond that with out closing GCS and restarting. When I got to radio calibration I just could not get it to work at all.

I tried unloading GCS and reloading, same thing. Next step I loaded GCS on my Netbook and finally was able to get things working correctly, apparently something on my big laptop doesn't play nice with GCS. Not surprising, the laptop is 3 years old and has gone through Xp to Vista to Win7 upgrades plus has enough software loaded to fill the system drive and spill over into the second.

Eventually I was able to complete the setup, arm the board and see the motors spin but it took significanly longer than the 10 minutes in the setup video!

As soon as I get back to the house in about an hour or so I'll see if it wants to fly.

It seems very likely you have had some other application install some older version of some libraries. There is really nothing we can do if another application has put libs in the wrong place, but please, reinstall a clean OS on that laptop! I feel sorry for it.

Arrghhh. I think its time to wipe it and clean install the OS, everyone knows that a clean install works much better but you did two upgrades? It would perform much much better for sure.

Well its to windy AGAIN tofly here so I have started the process of swapping out my Gaui FC on the Tedocopter and replacing it with the OP CC.

I have installed the Ground Station software on my the Mac no mither. Not sure about the installer window comments though! F*** Yeah must have been the delight in getting the installer done very quickly!

Anyhow off the the garage to start the swap out.

Let me know if there are any issues with the prepackaged mac version. I know that two of the icons are missing on the config gadget (you can go there, just no pretty icon). Also it only supports 10.6 right now (don't know how to package all the Qt libraries required)
