Ok, I need some help on this one.
Overall problem: Naza becomes extremely unstable and rocking back and forth from the front left to rear right motors after fast forward flight.
Suspected issue: Naza will not get through calibration with throwing an error message.
Background:I'm a long time DJI user with a Wookong for well over a year. I had an OpenPilot FPV quad that I wanted to add GPS to, so I swapped the CC3D for a Naza. I have everything installed and buttoned up nice with all the props balanced as is the frame itself. For what ever reason, I can not get the Naza to calibrate. I can get it to enter calibration mode, but it ends with an error every time. My wookong I can calibrate with no problem, but not the Naza. I have tried walking all the way out to the middle of the field with no phone or additional electronics on my person when doing it. I have tried it fast and slow.. nothing. I even tried keeping the controller 25 feet away from the copter while it was calibrating... nothing!
The problem that this is having on the quad is a massive instability under certain conditions. The first time I experienced this it was directly on take off during my first real maiden flight with this set up. I did a few test hovers in the garage and all was good, but as soon as I got out into the field it started rocking really bad from front left to rear right booms before eventually dumping into the ground. After making the needed repairs I also rolled all the gains back to default. Again, it hovered just fine and I even got a few decent forward thrusts out of it before the problem came up again. It seems like it starts to over correct for an atti error and then it just goes down hill from there becoming worse and worse till it can't stay in the air any more and dumps onto the ground.
I suspect that my overall problem is caused by the lack of calibration, but I'm open to hearing other theories as well. The unit has never been calibrated once since I've had it, so I can't help but think that is the cause. Does anyone else have this bad of a time calibrating their unit?
