Man.. This was filmed on a measly phantom f330..starting to wonder of skills is ore important than equipment! Grr I need to decide and buy SOMETHING!

On second inspection the outside shots aren't really that smooth with quite a bit of jello.. Realistically in never going to get the opportunity to film inside in a huge space like that with no wind at all so I'll not get carried away..

I have found a couple of f550's that I like the look at.. one has a landing gear and gimbal, naza with gps, graupner props, 2212 motors (less than recommended on here) and a DX6i Tx (less than recommended on here.. is this ok? Does Tx make a huge difference?) around £700 GBP.. what do you think? Just hope its not too big!!

Ah thanks peter. Shame. Not being able to even find a case to put the 550 in when travelling is starting to put me off of this whole thing.. The ease and everything included appeal of the f330 is starting to attract me but I don't want it to! :(

FIGHT IT!!. You know you'd only regret going for the 330.! When you get to grips with the 330 you'd kick yourself 'cause you'd have no where to go.
Get the 550, you'll not regret it. You'll have space to fit all those lovely extras you're dreaming about.
Try and find a good 550, the one you mentioned seems OK but you really need a DX8 for the extra channels.

Stick with the 550 imo, like was mentioned, the new slew of gimbals coming out will change a lot of things. Don't let anyone tell you gp3b footage isn't sellable (if that's your goal), every producer, director, dp, keygrip I know carries at least one in their kit. Besides, with the 550 you can crash it all the way down to a tricopter, so you got that going for you...which is nice.

I'm happy with the gopro quality just dont want to buy a £1k product and break it within a week when I could buy a £465 one and break that instead.. Maybe that's the wrong attitude!

Ok so I'm after an 8 channel tx, no gimbal, naza and gps.. And might have to ignore the advice to get 2215 motors as everything I see has 2212 and I'm not confident enough to self build.

With the gps does it do all of the failsafe return home type stuff that the 330 does?

Chances are closer to 10 minutes but what ever...when you do crash, you'll find 450-550 legs more plentiful. Guys have rigged out their 330's to carry fpv and gp's, but it's tight and takes a some knowhow to squeeze it all on. The frame is secondary to the flight controller, you can move the naza from ship to ship so long as you don't smash it up. But yes you'll want at least 8 channels to take advantage of all that the naza offers.
It's how a man reacts after his first crash that reveals his soul...

Without meaning to sound moronic.. What do you actually do with more channels on the transmitter?! Fpv doesn't really interest me so would hate to pay more to accommodate this if I'm confident I'll never use it.. (although it does look cool..)

alright then, it allows you to do more things in the future. I started with a dx6i and within a few months I moved to the dx8. You'll need a 3 position switch if your running the naza gps, and the knob is kind of cool for adjusting gains on the fly or using it to tilt your camera.

I'm not sure I'll ever get a gimbal that is adjustable on that axis and I don't know what gains are so the chance of adjusting on the fly is slim to start with.. Displaying the lipo read out on the screen looks a nice feature, do they both do that?

Then get a 6 channel, it's not my money, but you'll have to do a super secret trick to get the dji gps to work.

Trying to figure it out!

Well, you 2 convinced me and I found a nice RTF DJI F550 w/ Futaba 8FG, NAZA-M w/ GPS, T-Motors, and a few other perks for under $1000 usd.

Basic landing gear, so I will likely upgrade that, but it is a nice package to start.

And.. Any regrets? How are your videos looking? Id hate to buy the inconvenient hart to transport 550 and think "I could have got these videos with the phantom.."
