Video Tx and Rx suggestions

I'm looking for suggestion for a Video Tx and Rx and antennas for a 650 quadcopter with go pro to aerial video. I'll be flying line of sight so I don't need it for fpv but rather just see what the the gopro is seeing. Come to think of it I'll probably need a suggestion for a monitor as well.

That being said I will mostly likely build a race quad in the future so it would be nice for the receiver to work with that type of set up as well. So I would need something for both short and long distance.

I've heard good things about the immersionrc duo receiver but it is kind of pricey. Which I don't mind too much if there is a real difference in quality.

It really depends on what you define as "long distance." For basic LOS flying and framing shots, the 5.8 immersionRC uno has been good for me with their VTX and a readymaderc monitor. I upgraded to the cloverleaf style antenna.

If you want long distance - or to be able to have video with objects between you and the bird, then you're probably talking 1.3 or some other freq that is appropriate for your location. Most of these (if not all) require a HAM operators license. They all have trade-offs as well, with certain choices interfering with other frequencies already in use on your craft.

I've had the best luck with Immersion stuff. I've bought some cheaper stuff, and it shows it's value....."CHEAP". I've got a RC832 that works, but the jacks are miniature, and don't match Immersion, Fat Shark, Skyzone, etc. etc. Tried to use it with the 5" cheap haed play goggles from HK, but need adapters. I have an Immersion receiver, with dual antenna inputs, switches to whichever has the strongest signal. I keep it on a tri-pod. I just ordered one of these, for my goggles. Not much more than the cheap jobs. Also be aware, some manufactures devices don't play well with others. Lots of reading and asking questions, like you have, will save you grief, and mula.

Well for now line of sight is fine. But eventually I would love to do something up to a mile. But that's in the distant future and I may have to just buy different equipment for that with lower frequencies.

So I found a decent deal on a used ImmersionRC duo v3. I'm hoping I don't regret not getting the new v4. Anyone know the difference besides the extra channels? I was thinking of getting the Immersion 600mw transmitter and bluebeam ultra antennas. That takes care of my circularly polarized antenna on the receiver but I guess I need a linear one now for enhanced distance? What do you guys suggest?
