using aluminum frames. ?

I have an idea for a new frame that uses all aluminum tubing. Has to be aluminum though as it is formed in a certain way that could only be molded by other materials. I have read numerous times that there is bad RFI with aluminum. but MK and many others use it all over the place. Whats the real verdict on issues arising from the use of too much aluminum? DennyR? I know you got something to say on this. I have a few reasons for wanting this design. One is I want to isolate vibration in the ring. the other reason is orientation. Anyone who has flown a dual operator setup will know how easily it is to get mixed up when the camera gimbal is spinning around. My thought was if you got rid of the arms and had one consistent color around the tube with a bright orange band you wouldnt get confused as easily. I also want the gimbal to hang from cables as to isolate even more vibes. There, I have released the last year of design ideas so the Chinese can now steal it and sell it before I ever get a chance to even make a proto.

Well I haven't had an alum. model since my original MK Okto - long since gone. But Carbon is also a conductor so I don't think you should have any issues with that. My only worry would be the weight. I am not a great fan of anything co-axial because it is very inefficient. But with that design. I would love to see a concept that had six motors. three mounted upright and three inverted and to keep the dia. small I would have the props. slightly overlap each other. That would be different alright. Thin titanium tube would be great if you can bend it.

just had a thought, how are you going to distribute the wires. I think ESc's would have to be at the back of the motors so you only need a ring main. now that will produce some EFI

Yeah, the wiring is an issue. I can only think it would be best to run them into the center using lightweight tubes. It will no doubt be slightly heavier than a comparable spoke design. but I wanted to do something different.
