Update frequency for HK Blue ESC's with OP CC3D??

Bartman

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
Bought four HobbyKing Blue 12A ESC's and I'm trying to get them working with an OpenPilot CC3D flight control board. The heli flew in my basement yesterday but I'm not sure I'm using the correct Refresh Rate setting for the ESC's.

OpenPilot recommended 50 for standard ESC's and up to 490 for UltraESC's but I can't figure out where the HobbyKing Blue series ESC's fall in that range. Motors are iFlight 1806-2300kv.

Thank you!

Bart, I haven't used OP and my CC3D in a couple years but I'm pretty sure I used the 400 refresh rate for all my builds, especially if the esc's had SimonK on them. Not sure if this helps. Was digging around the OP site to try and find an esc compatibility chart that I could swear they had but the only thing I could find in regard to esc's was a chart on which esc's could be flashed with SimonK.

Have you looked on Tau Labs for any info? Shoot Peabody24 a private message, he could probably help.

A few of the guys on FPVLAB said they set theirs to 400 using the SimonK.

tried 490 and 400, didn't make much of a difference but thanks for the help. the motors spool up really well using the motor test function in the GCS but they are spastic when it's the CC3D calling the shots.
not sure why, PID's maybe?
when all else fails, blame the PID's...lol
