The GoPro3 and 3+ do not use a conventional 5 pin mini-USB cable except for basic charging and data downloads to PCs.
But if you look carefully at the GoPro3 mini-USB connection you will see that it actually has 10 pins.
Also for the GoPro3 to to put out live video to your FPV video downlink xmitter you will need to install a 100k resistor in the 10-pin mini-USB cable.
Prices for fully assembled cables can range from $3 to $50 depending on required functionality and whether or not you connect via the mini-USB or the larger pin-count GoPro connection on the back of the camera.
