Thermal safety ESC?

Hello DJI Fellows,

My question is: is the ESC of the Phantom 2 Vision+ thermally secured? That is, is it thermally protected so current or power is reduced as the rotor blade is blocked? Can somebody confirm this or ... not.

Thanks for the reply!!

R.

No idea but I doubt it as the Phantoms are made with cheap components on the whole.

That's what i thougt. However, cheap components is one thing, safety controle a second. It can be done even with cheap comp. Do all expensive commercial drones, in the market, have this feature? They should... According to regulations.

If a rotorblade is blocked in flight you have bigger problems that potential overheating. If it is blocked on the ground, safety is not the big issue.

The point is: according to legislation the ESC needs to be thermally secured. Of not there is no agreement on airworthiness.
