Testing water damaged ESC / motor?

Hi all. I have a DJI 450 with 30A ESCs and 920KV motors, (the standard kit). I was flying near the edge of a loch recently and did a bad landing. It flipped over and dipped one of the motors in the drink! I turned it off immediately and dried it on the airing cupboard overnight. However, when I tried it again I got smoke coming from the motor and a very hot ESC. Is there any way to bench test the ESC and the motor? I'm an electronic engineer so have bench power supply, meters, oscilloscope etc. I don't want to test a good motor in case that one burns out.
Thanks
Andy

You can test a motor by spinning it and measuring the voltage across each of the three leads, the voltage should be much the same for each pair of wires, Chances are that there is still water in you esc, it gets behind the heat shrink sleaving, cut off the heat shrink and dry out again.

Sorry no good ideas how to test the ESC other than with a motor, maybe someone else has a good idea.
