Speed Controlers/ESC

Are the ESC's specific to working with certain radios, receivers, motors, and control boards.

I just want to make sure I buy the right 30 amp ESC speed controlers for the components I have purchased already. Any suggestions on ESC's to use would be helpful.


For my first build I am using these components:

DJI M Lite

FrSky 2.4GHz ACCST TARANIS X9D

FrSky X8R Rx - 8/16 channel, Sbus, Smart Port Receiver

SUNNYSKY 2212-980KV Brushless Motor

ESCs are generic. Just try to buy ones with OPT = Optical isolation versus BEC. I have had great success so far with Turnigy Multistar 30A and 45A OPT ESCs even with the newer and slower rpm pancake style 22 pole motors.
