Hi All and Happy New Year
Well my year did not start out well and I have no idea why. I have a QAV400 along with three or four other quads. I wanted to try out some new gain settings
that someone had posted . As I powered up I got a plume of white smoke from number one motor(top right) the led started flashing red. I hooked it to assistant and noticed
elevator was not responding . At first I though I just blew motor out. I just happened to have a spare. These motors are not cheap …about $48 . I replaced it and DAMM it happened again. I emailed GETFPV who built the quad for me and have not responded yet . The only possible reason I could think of was the ESC. Has anyone had an experience like this . I would think if it were bad it would just plain not work not blow a motor. Any info would help greatly
Thanks…... William

I have run this quad for about 3 months with no problem except handling . Harder to fly then a DJI quad

Mr take no prisoners!
It does sound like an ESC playing up.

Flying yesterday afternoon with a mate flying his QAV400 with CC3D, he was trying some new gain settings, did two rolls and did not recover, turned it into a twelve piece puzzle, arms are okay but frame top and bottom plate are history.
