Trying to figure out if there is a way to mod this remote

To accept in input for trigger etc from pix hawk or apm?
I'm sure there must be a way to do it..
I have a nice Fuji camera that i am flying with, but it does not accept i/r so an R/C I/R switch is out of the question. I have bought one of these to use for mapping, but i wonder if there is a hack so it can have input also, this way i can use the cam trigger output from arducopter?
