RMRC 540 OSD camera- darkening when light enters lens?

I have my camera on a tilt pod on my Hex, set to look straight ahead, 45deg down, and straight down using a toggle. I'm getting almost no picture when I'm near straight ahead or climbing unless I brighten the picture through the brightness control on my goggles. Then when I look down its too bright to almost white. Anyone else have or had this problem? I've tried to adjust every setting I can think of but nothing helps.

Thanks!

Not my video but does the same with dark, but less color shift.

i like the

"Great image in all lighting conditions"

wonder if thats why it's on sale. The light meter is moving like a keychain cam does, all notchy and slow.
