Quad top and bottom plate size

Hi
Im building my first quad completely fbe rom scratch including frame out of aluminum. Im trying to get suggestions on top and bottom plate size for motors that will probably be about 25 inches apart. I'll be using a KK 2 board which is almost 2 inches square.
Any and all thoughts or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I guess wood is good, Im sure youve seen top and bottom plates in polycarbonate, aluminum, carbon fiber of course. So anything you can get your hands on would be a good material to make top and bottom plates from. Ive heard that there are some free plans you can download and use as well.

Thats a good sized quad. I personally woukd go with a 6 to 7 inch plate as you have enough space. If you make the plates small with a large motor spacing you put alot of stress on the arms where they meet the centre

A large centre alows you to mount all your gear nicely.
