Preferred video editing software

Hi All,

I've decided to embark on a massive change in career and setup a humble aerial filming business. I'm working on all the logistics that I need to get in place before I can launch, but need some advice from those with more experience.

I have no intention of becoming a post production specialist as I have a couple of experts in that field that I plan to work with, but on the smaller and simpler jobs I'd like to be able to take the raw footage and edit something that will satisfy the customer. This might be something like a short (sub 2 mins) commercial or residential property shoot as an example.

I have very little experience of editing videos, but I have a house full of Mac's and the will to learn :nevreness: So, can you recommend a reliable, easy to use and flexible video editing application that can output everything from You Tube/Vimeo web based footage, MPEG/MOV files through to high-res (HD and 4K) when required. (I'll mostly be filming from a DJI S900 with Z15 and Lumix GH4).

I'll need to put together a showreel over the coming few weeks, so the sooner I get to grips with the editing side the better! The sort of finished product I'm looking to produce is something like this: http://vimeo.com/109862555

Thanks in advance,
Dom.

Adobe Premiere seems to be the industry standard pretty much. Some still use the likes of Avid and Final Cut but I guess the only way to work it out is to try if you can or read up on it and then choose your poison!
