I am ready for my maiden flight of my Droidworx AD8-HLE. I have loaded the new 5.06 firmware. I have used 200 basic gains and 150 for ATTI gains. Anyone recommend any settings?? I do not gave any gimbal attached. I have 2 8000 mAh lipos attached.

Also, any advice for maiden flight?? Scared!!

Basic gains around 200 should be a great place to start. 150 atti gains could be a touch high. see how it responds after sharp stick inputs. If you can it is a good idea to set the atti gains to a knob on your tx. Being able to adjust them in flight will make it easier figuring out what gains suit it most.

In my experience there is not much point setting up gains without your craft fully loaded with camera and all. It will fly much differently with the extra weight.

For your maiden make sure to calibrate the compas at your flying field prior to take off.

Once airborne just hover at a low height and run it through the batteries. Land and feel all components for hot spots. After a successful maiden, then you should experiment with your gain settings. Take off in atti mode. If gains are too low, in Manual mode it can often be hard to control after lift off.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

I have my atti gains on 50 on my skyjib!! And it has been flying great so far! Even in a 20-30 km/h wind!
Basic settings are

175/125/175/175

The only thing I noticed was that my ESC's (HW PLATINUM 40) were quite hot after 14 min flight! Is this normal?

Cheers guys, I think I will drop my Att gains a little. 70 maybe? So, should I calibrate my compass every time out side or just the once? I have calibrated it in my conservatory.
