Noob to the multirotor world from Herts/Beds, jumping straight in for help!

Hi All,

My name is James, I live hertfordshire/bedfordshire in the UK.

I have decided on a whim to go out and buy a quadcopter.... however...... this is my kit list and I dont really know what I am going to do with it all! lol.

1x DJI flame wheel F450,
1x Naza V2 GPS
1x Zenmuse Gimbal for GoPro H3
1x Spektrum DX8
1x AR8000 Receiver
1x Spektrum TM1000
2x 2200mah 11.1v 3S 30C Lipo's

So I have downloaded the instructions, which in my opinion are a waste of time!

I need some help, does the Naza need fitting a certain way?
do the motors need fitting a certain way?

Do i fit the ESC's under the arms or on top.

Then I need help with settings up the Naza and DX8 and TM1000

Many thanks in anticipation to anyone with the patience to help!

Mr take no prisoners!
I highly recommend trolling through youtube for some how to for setting up your radio system, lots of great videos that that will show you step by step what you need to do.

The radio menus can be a nightmare to get into your head if you have never set one up for anything but after a while it will click and you will be a wizz.

Pete

Here is one to get you started.

Hi, thanks for that link I will look after I have slept!

I have finally finished building it, I followed a video on DJI website, but then realised the gimbal a planned to use wouldn't fit due to the mounting points now sticking out the side (if you know what I mean) so I have stripped it back down, re-positioned the arms so the reds are at the front and turned the the naza 90 degrees.

See attached pics, maybe someone will spot a problem before it's first attempted flight!

I plugged the battery in and successfully paired the dx8 and receiver, only thing is I have no idea what's next, for safety reasons I left the props off, the led now flashes yellow and I cannot seem to get the motors to run I must be missing something lol.

Oh tapatalk isn't letting me add the pics.

Please can someone help, I am really struggling to get this set up using naza software,

I have connected everything up as per another thread on here however when I try to set up IOC, I cannot adjust the travel enough on the switch to get it anywhere near the correct settings, I have set on the switch settings the following:

F_Mode = GPS - Att - Manual = functioning correctly
AUX_2 = X2 (Home lock - Course Lock - Off) Now working correctly, read a few posts, had to calibrate compass first.
AUX 3 is the wheel, I have no idea which gain I should set this to, I dont have the gimbal fitted.

"NAZA | AR8000

T >>>> T
R >>>> R
A >>>> A
E >>>> E
U >>>> AUX1
X1 >>>> AUX3
X2 >>>> AUX2
X3 >>>>> >>>>>> NAZA VU or whatever the V2 module is called
AR8000 G (NOT CONNECTED)

The implementation is as follows:

NAZA U (flight mode) goes to AR8000 AUX1. DX8 AUX1 is selected to the 3 position FMODE switch for GPS ATT, ATT and MANUAL flight modes.
NAZA X1 controls in-flight gains settings via DX8 AUX3 knob.
NAZA X2(IOC), goes to AR8000 AUX2. DX8 AUX2 is selected to the 3 position FLAP switch for OFF, HOME LOCK and COURSE LOCK."
