Night Flying - LED Orientation and Setup

I was wondering the best setup for night time flying? I mostly fly after 7pm and i have managed to loose track of the single LED on the VRU/NAZA not fun.
Tonight after a fair amount of planning I mounted a few strips of Turnigy LED's to my DJI Flamewheel 450. The results were an obvious improvement and I was quite impressed with everything.

Since this was the first night of flying I have many questions and as always look to improve my night time experience.

1. In any way will it effect the life of the battery or the onboard voltage monitor of the DJI NAZA if I utilize the Conditioning cable for the LED's power?
2. To control lighting i purchased a Multi-Remote Receiver operated on/off Switch. It a great device that has 7 ports , I am using 3 does a way exist to disable them so I can go 123 off, 321 off?
3. My front legs are white with white led's and the rear are red/red led's. For orientation I formed a pointer to the nose of the flamewheel. Any better setup for the Green LED?
4. Removing the Gel from the LED to expose the solder joint. How the hell do i clean it easily? I used needle nose to cut & snip it away followed with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol to expose the pad. Any easier way?

Thanks for your input.

Fly,crash,glue,repeat!
I have leds permantly on my Y6 with negligible battery drain.

I use red on port, green on starboard and white on the tail.

If I see red/green left/right its pointing away from me.

green/red left right its facing toward me.

Red/white sideways pointing to my left

Green/white sideways pointing to my right.
