Need Help! New to drones

so i just bought a skyviper 2450gps and i am loving it already, but there is a height limit? And the controller doesn’t reach very far? What can i do to improve this any tips for a beginner my wife will let me spend 400 on a drone once Ive mastered this one

I should also add i have two other drones but they are quite harder to handle i almost lost one so i kinda stopped and i saw this one for a decent price (skyviper) so i got it i like that it can come back if it goes to far

To answer your question on extending the range. If you have some know how and a soldering iron, you can take the controller apart and add a external antenna. The internal antenna is limited in size and strength. Also once you have a external antenna adapter (usually a SMA adapter) mounted, you can change antennas to a directional antenna for longer ranges. Usually just a simple 2.4GHZ omnidirectional 2dbi antenna will be enough. 2.4GHZ is a long range frequency used in all controllers and don't really need a powerful antenna unless you are flying miles away.

Look on YouTube for Controller Antenna Mod and the videos will give you a good idea on how to do it yourself.
