Could anyone explain to me why the Naza combo when you trim it out it is all fine up until you unplug the battery, plug it back on and the trims are out again until i trim it out to the same possition where i trimed it before. Is there a certain way to trim the Naza? coz I know it might be the way that i am doing it:dejection:, and yes i am triming it in ATTI mode.
Cheers

Airconrob, how are you trimming the Naza? Are you using the assistant to adjust the gains or are you using the transmitter? If you are using the Assistant you need to click "write" located at the top of the window. If you are trimming with the transmitter then you need to "read" the settings after you trim in flight, then type them in the the gain tabs, after that press "write". You can then center what you are using in your transmitter to trim and go from there.

Thanks for that Tahoe Ed, yes I was just trimming the transmitter "silly me" I didn't realize you had to do all that in the Assistant as I am a newbe. But it makes scence now.
Thanks again

I think Rob is just refering to general trim as he set gains on pc . I have suggested to try putting in some sub trim then re calibrating tx in the assistant software .

Pete,

The Naza will be stable when in ATTI mode with no stick input, but it will not hover in one place. It will drift with the wind. If your throttle is at 50% stick it will hold altitude if hovering. Now most of this needs to be adjusted through the gains. How do you know you are in ATTI mode. What is the LED doing? Most people are running between 120-140 in basic gains on pitch and roll and around 100 for ATTI gains. Yaw and Altitude gains are around 110-130. But as they say in the commercial your mileage will vary.

Lou, thanks for this. I figured out something that I was doing wrong.. and this is pretty stupid on my part (especially for a guy who has been flying full-sized aircraft for 30 years): I had a major back surgery recently so I try to avoid bending over any more than I have to so (wait 'til you hear this)... I was plugging in my battery with the Naza sitting on a table in my entry way, so that I didn't have to knee down and bend over in my icy driveway, and then carrying the unit outside and setting it down on the ground. The point is that I was not setting on the ground first and plugging it in so that it could achieve good stabilization via the gyro, etc. As soon as I realized that I was making this mistake I did it correctly and found that the unit hovered perfectly. It was a whole different rig to fly when it was actually given time to stabilize. There's your good laugh for the evening :) Thanks for the gain settings too! I'll get back into this with my newly stabilized bird and some new numbers to play with tomorrow.

Pete,

I'm glad to hear you got it figured out. The Naza is pretty easy to set up and fly if you follow the manual. Feel free to contact me if you need additional help or are in need of any Multirotor equipment.
