Has anyone had a loss of radio signal at a much shorter distance than specs ( 2100 ft- 700m) advertise.
I was flying direct line of site over a lake with no electrical interference and at altitude of 70 ft and distance of 800 ft signal was lost and failsafe activated.

Basic question, but what was the orientation of the antenna on your Transmitter you were holding? You want the sides of the antenna exposed to the quad, not the pointed end for maximum signal distance.

the antenna was pointed down , bent 90 degrees

While that may work fine in theory since you are exposing the sides, I have to wonder if the "Cone" that protrudes from the antenna arcs more toward the tip then to the base. I would run with the tip facing the sky and give it a test.
