Hi guys
I bought a multicopter and a Gopro and would like to travel to countries where it is allowed to use it without getting troubble at the customs or with the police. In Egypt two swiss tourists have been arrested because they had a DJI Phantom in their suitcase. So it is very important to know something about the local legal situation if you are travelling with your multicopter.
Maybe people from different countries could post some lines about the situation in their country. That would be great.
I could make the start with Switzerland:
SWITZERLAND
- for commercial flights you need a permit of BAZL
- for private flights with a max. weight of 30 kg you don't need a permit
- a third party insurance (at least 1 mio SFR) is needed for multicopters > 0,5 kg, allways carry a copy of the insurance with you
- no flights within a 5 km radius of civil or military runways
- no flights in CTR (controlled air space) above 150 m
- allways visual contact to the multicopter (if you fly with FPV a second person has to have visual contact to the multicopter)
- cantons could make additional restrictions due to security
- the biggest constraints by flights with a camera seem to be "privacy" reasons: due to privacy law it is not allowed that you show private grounds of people and persons must be not identifiable
- if there is a videodownlink there are restrictions of the frequencies (as far as I understand it: 5.8 GHz with max. 25mW)
- it is not allowed to take pictures of military facilities
