The 1000mw is the version 2, has better heat sink and pico connector for the cable. the 500mw is the unlocked international version.

Will the 500 work in the US?

The Lawmate 500mw. has no legal channels in U.S. but the Racewood does.

No worries bro. I am just trying to pass on stuff that I never used.I just bought A TBS Disco Pro ,I am using 2.4 Ghz for video now.1.3 was messing with my SAT lock on GPS. with the NAZA.
