Hi Guys

I have only just found this forum.. Great Stuff here.:D

Im sick of the huge massive long threads on RCG and very limited info on HF.

Glad you guys are all here.

I am currently experimenting with a Home Built Tri and MultiWii system

The pictures are of its current incarnation but its just about to under go a big revamp with new frames and a much better FPV set up.

However i am very keen to try out the CopterControl Boad when it becomes available again.
It looks like a very professional system. Love teh Ground Station software for setup.:)

Any way i will be hanging around here much more as i dont have any local Multirotor Buddies to talk to.:(
I am currently based in Qatar in teh Middle East so everything i want to do has to be pretty much Scratch Built but thats fine with me!.:D

I am already planning my Next Multi and i fancy having ago at a Quad with Vtail set up.
I have seen some pictures somewhere but cant find them again.
Can someone point me in the right direction to find some more info please?
I would use the CopterControl FC on that one.

Many Thanks

Ben

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
Ben,
Look in the vendor area under Southern Cross UAV, Mat's been building the v-tail style for a couple of months now and has it perfected.
Welcome to the site, we're glad you found us!

HI Ben.. you in Qatar doing oil work? I have some buddies over there... I hear its pretty hot. Cool photos of your home made tri machine. Does that back prop clear the rudder like that or maybe its set up different when you fly it? DO you have any video of your machine flying.. I have never seen video of one with tail servo.

Hi Ben Me too...lol
I have Built a Few Multicopters with the Copter Control Board with very Good Results.
I have a Big thread on the OpenPilot Forum as well about my Build of my Karbonic-X CF Multicopter Frame.
Flies Awesome!
You will like the CC FC For Sure.

Hi Emo

No im not doing oil work in Qatar, although my company does operate in the oila and gas supporrt industry.
I am building two Floating observation stations for the Qatar Coast Guard from our highly specialised light weight concrete!

Regarindg the Tail on my Tri. The Rudder as you described it is just a fixed vertical fin for visual reference rather than a working rudder.
The servo tilts the rear motor to vector teh thrust in teh opposite direction to the way you want to yaw.
It works very well and has good authority. I must add that that deisgn has been around ages and is not all my own work!
Unfortunatly i dont have any Video's of it flying yet.
Yesterday i striped it bear ready for all teh electronics to go into a new version of the airframe. It will feature carbon arms and much much neater wiring. I hate the wiring in its current state so messy.

I just finished cutting out all the pieces for the new airframe and just realised it already weighs double that of the original airframe!
Will see how she turns out in the end. She may be a little porker by the time all the FPV gear is fitted!

May have to upgrade the motors!

Cheers

Sorry I forgot to thank you all for the warm welcome.

I will take a look through Southern Cross forum and get the low down on his V Tail Quad.
