Hi, I'm reasonably new to all this having only started early last year with a Blade MQX (a kinda suck it and see), but then took the plunge and purchased a DJI F450 about 3 months later. I've managed to get a handful of flights in spite of the weather here in the UK. It's been steep learning curve and I'm still learning but looking back from when I first started, I think I'm doing well, all I can say is thank god for Youtube. I've recorded a number of flights but not yet posted any just yet but the end goal is to fly FPV. There's some amazing flight footage out there from the likes of Juz70, Cruddcopter and Jaaaaaay (aka Aerocam.org) to name a few, which are some of inspirations for getting me up there.
I've recently upgraded my DX6i to a Futaba T8J, which has made things a lot simpler now I don't have to channel mix between switches to get GPS to work, and failsafe works as it should now :tennis:.
I've had a couple of incidents already but that's to be expected: The first was when I got stuck in a tree, the second was pilot error when I took off in manual mode in 10-15mph winds and crashed from 60ft up, breaking every arm and a motor, but hay that's all part of the game.
I have a many questions but look forward to receiving your advice and in time, passing on my own.
I've attached a few before and after shots below.
