I am Andrew Raines flyer/ owner of HexaCrafter. HexaCrafter was created out of my quest for a Multicopter that met my specific needs and was not available onthe market. We are a family owned & operated company. What originally started as a passion for RC & Multicopters has grown into a constant quest to develop new products from Hobbist to Professional.
The criteria that drove this need are:
1. Extremely Rigid: The HexaCrafter Airframe is designed to nearly eliminate all armflex & twist. This eliminates the additional corrective actions by theFlight Control System to compensate for airframe & arm flexing.
2. Extremely Durable: The HexaCrafter Airframe is designed to be able to handle the unexpected “crash” with all major components surviving.
3. Ability to grow with growing needs: The HexaCrafter Airframe is fully upgradable to a larger platform. The HC-650 (650mm) airframe can easily be upgraded to ourHC-800 (800mm) airframe with an all-in-one upgrade kit including arms, motormounts & hardware. Larger or Custom sizes are available as special orders.
4. Clear Assembly Instructions& parts lists: All HexaCrafter products have clear “blueprint” style assembly manuals. All assembly steps are clearlyillustrated and all parts have part #’s for correct placement during assemblyas well as ordering repair/ replacement parts as required. Assembly videos have been created for some products as needed or requested by our customers.
5. Ability to accept accessories& components from other manufacturers: TheHexaCrafter Airframe using load rails for equipment, battery & landing gearmounting. Load rails are offered in 8mm, 10mm & 12mm diameter and can bespaced at 60mm & 80mm O.C. with pre-drilled holes. Load rails can be spacedat 68mm O.C. with the drilling of (8) holes & the use of a template. These options will allow mounting of nearly all accessories, camera mounts, batterymounts & landing gear for other current manufacturers eliminating the need to repurchase items that do not need replaced.
6. Options for mounting Batteries& Accessories: The HexaCrafter Airframe has several battery mounting options including frame & rail mounting to allow users to have “choices” on placement to equalize & balance airframe loads.Using these options has allowed us to move the camera to a full forward position to minimize the viewing of arms & propellers in video &photos.
7. Ability to accept FlightControls from different manufacturers: TheHexaCrafter Airframe has built-in provisions for nearly all current flightcontrol systems including DJI Naza, DJI WKM, Open Pilot, KK, & Hoverfly.Additionally, sufficient area is available on the Center Frame Assembly toaccept most others & additional video & FPV equipment.
8. Organized & planned PowerDistribution: The HexaCrafter Airframe is designed with a “Power Panel” that is easily removable with a few screws. ESC,Power Distribution Board & wiring are all organized onto one power Panelfor a neatly organized power system with easy access.
9. Power to do the job: The HexaCrafter Airframe is designed to be “over-engineered” not only in rigidity & strength, but also its ability to handle the power from large motors. Our users have configured it for slow fly stable aerial video/photography platforms as well as FPV speed “dragsters”.
10. Ability to travelInternationally: The HexaCrafter HC-650 & HC-800are designed to be easily broken down for International Air Travel. The mainairframe is easily configured for “rotating arms” which allow the two front& rear arms to rotate tight to the left & right arms. With the removalof 8 bolts the load rails, camera gimbal & battery mounts can separatedfrom the main frame. This configuration allows the entire main frame assemblyto remain as one complete system for packing in a Pelican 1700 case. The loadrails, camera gimbal & battery mounts are then packed in a separate Pelicancase sized as needed by the user. See the HexaCrafter website for details-TECHNICAL INFORMATION > Airline Travel with Airframe.
I hope that you will take the time to visit our website and view our products, assembly manuals, specification sheets, Photos & videos and Frequently Asked Questions
The website will be updated soon with higher quality photographs and specifications as well as several new products.
After understanding why we are different than the others, please consider us for your next (and last) airframe.
