Help! 8 bit vs 32 bit gimbal control board

I am new to this so please excuse the following newb questions. I have a new Steadidrone Qu4d. It has a built In 2 axis gimbal but I need to purchase a controller board. I see a lot of talk about 32bit vs 8bit gimbal controller boards. These are my questions:

1. Should I get a 8 bit controller or 32 bit controller for my 2 axis gimbal?.

2. Can I run a two axis gimbal with a three axis controller?

3. Which is the best Alexmos controller out there?
