Hi all,
I found this forum after following a link to the Why we Fly video. Boy is that a great compilation of scenes and music with just the right amount of commentary to entertain and educate.
I am new to quadcopters but not new to RC. I've had a few over the years including a Fox, Lunch Box and T-maxx but I had never taken to the air. Earlier this year I got a Syma S107G that I enjoyed but it didn't really fire me up. I saw quadcopters gaining in popularity and did a bunch of research finding the best way to learn to fly was with a micro-quad so I have a Hubsan X4 that I really like and am using to hone my skills.
I am looking forward to gaining knowledge and maybe even sharing some as my abilities improve and experience builds.
Oh, that's right, you wanted a laugh. So I'm out flying the X4 today at work and go high up in gusty winds, get turned around and while trying to get it back overhead I start doing flips and barrel rolls and watch it drift away downwind. Almost out of sight when I chop the throttle. Pretty funny, I know but not to me at that moment. My coworker thought it was hilarious though. It was found, none the worse for wear...
