Fitting other accessories

Hi,

I'm about to try and fit some sort of siren/alarm to my f550. Ours is a working drone used on a farm to keep pigeons on the move and Im going to add an alarm of sorts to create a large sound to move them on.

I've already thought ahead and installed a deans connector to the main board so i can switch between the zenmuse and siren and any other accessories when I want to.

But what I need help with is the receiver… I would like to make the siren controllable by a switch. I don't use the intelligent orientation control so i thought i'd use this wire from the receiver to control my siren box. But I'm not sure how? What voltage is likely to come from the receiver wire with the 3 wire plug? I'm guessing a low power 3-5v and so ill need a relay switch to then power the siren with 12 from the battery...

something like this:

or this

and then i would use this small timer to control a 30s pulse of noise for example:

Any help appreciated here folks :)

hi there,

unless im very much mistaken the constant voltage from the receiver will be 5V, on the red wire which on a futaba is the middle pin, teh only problem is the current available from the receiver. i would think the best thing to do would be to wire the servo output on the receiver to a relay and use the relay to switch the power to the siren. that way teh receiver is protected and you have the full votage available from your battery for the siren.

cheers

Hi Steve,

Thanks for this… I was guessing 5v from the receiver and I wouldn't dare power anything from it so Ill have to find a relay… Hopefully there are some 5v relay switches! And hopefully a relay won't draw too much current through the receiver!?
