First Drone Build (Beginner)

Hi everyone!

I am quite new to drones and quadcopters, and I am still learning to fly.
I have two smaller cheap chinese quads at home for now, one with FPV and one without.
However I am not very pleased with the ones I have as they feel and behave very low-quality, and the flight-time is under 10 minutes.

As I am very interested in electronics, Arduino and DIY so I decided to build my own beginner-quad. I have built two 3D-printers so I am not new to soldering and assembling things.

I started to read around the web about quad builds, and it's a djungle! Very hard to find a good guide that
explains how everything goes together.

I decided to buy my parts from Hobbyking as they have a EU-warehouse (We have quite high customs-fees for items from outside the EU).

So where do I begin? I want a relatively cheap but still good quad for FPV and Aerial photography.

I found this frame that looks like a good starting point:
S500 Glass Fiber Quadcopter Frame 480mm - Integrated PCB Version
(https://hobbyking.com/en_us/s500-glass-fiber-quadcopter-frame-480mm-integrated-pcb-version.html)

So far, I have picked theese items:
Radio: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-tgy-i6-afhds-transmitter-and-6ch-receiver-mode-2.html
ESC (What is BEC?): https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-plush-30amp-speed-controller.html
Props: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/hobbyking-slowfly-propeller-10x4-5-black-cw-ccw-4pcs.html
Battery: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/zippy-compact-2200mah-3s-25c-lipo-pack.html

My questions:
- Have I choosed any "bad" items, that wont work together?
- How do I know which motor to choose? 28mm, which measurnment is that?
- How do I know which flight-controller to choose?
- They recommend a 2200mah 3S "or more" battery for the frame, how large can i go?
- When I want i gimbal, how do I know which to choose?

Any other suggestions or something I haven't thought about?
