F550 Landing Gear needed for shooting in 1080

Do I need landing gear for my F550 that puts the camera out front if I only plan to shoot in 1080? I'm going to use an H3-2D (or 3D if one comes out for the F550).

Also, does someone make an adapter that allows me to mount the Zenmuse to the bottom frame directly?

Unfortunately, I have not been able to find enough photos of the batwing to show how it's mounted to the frame, how the gimbal mounts to the batwing (no screw holes that I can see) or how the battery mounts to the batwing.

That was definitely helpful, but he doesn't indicate whether he had to drill the holes or not.

I've been using the AeroXcraft landing gear in conjunction with their VTR125 gimbal and a Sony NEX-5 for awhile now and have no complaints at all.

FWIW....if you decide to go that route, PM me. I am about to tear down the 550 for parts on another build. When I do, I'll be selling the gimbal and perhaps also the landing gear.

I use the tarot 2d gimbal and a cheapo landing gear with the rods under it and it works great.
