F450 - Week 1 "Revisions"

So I finished my F450 just before Christmas and got to fly it once or twice on a single battery before my HK order finally arrived.

Had some good fun flights learning the ropes - and on my second day I bolted a new camera to it and took some video. It wasn't great, but it was proof that this could work out and I was psyched.

I'm sort of laughing at how much the thing has changed in just a week or two:

- Default Build:

- Mode 2 - low camera without plastic case (not the best pic)

- Mode 3 ! High camera mount:

- Mode 4: Obliterated (Sisyphus mode)

- Mode 5: Low front cam, in case

And finally tonight: 6th change - Iris Aerial Leg extensions and batwing:

(which required a ton of work, since I had mounted my lower platform F / R instead of left - right.)

Who knows what'll be next!

This is almost exactly what I want to do with mine when it arrives. Any tips (because its fresh in your mind) for a newbie like me?

If you just want to hang a camera on it easily, leaving the base with the long side front-to-rear works well. I ran the camera off it and had good results.

It's very hard though to use that spot and keep the props out of the view. If you plan to go with a batwing or some other mount, it probably makes the most sense to start with the lower platform pointing left -> right instead. I had to re-wired my escs, change props, move arms, change wiring on the naza, and re-orient the naza to be able to switch it last night.

(If you don't, the camera won't have room to hang off the Batwing correctly)

Otherwise - tips? Go slow, learn what you're doing. If you never get bold, it's easy to keep the thing in the air.

Next revision! Added 2 meters of LED lights from GotHeliRC - and put them on a switch, so I can run them on or off.
