F450 built & configured but will not arm

Hi All,

I"ve just finished the build on my f450 & configured it in the assistant ' no errors showing now' it has been setup with a Futaba t8j & the tx has been set accordingly. voltage motoring is on, however I have not changed anything apart from the cell type.

It has been upgraded to the latest firmware and from the assistant side of things it appears to be fine.

However when powered on it will not arm, I just get the following led sequence in gps mode, single green flashing led when sticks are centred an no throttle when in using the sticks to arm it blinks faster but only 2 blinks in a short burst. and in attitude & failsafe I get yellow/ red leds blinks in the same patterns as above.

Have i missed anything obvious ?

Thanks in advance

Jim

Single green flashing LED means it's good to go. Double blinks *before* you've armed the motors means your sticks aren't centered (not including the throttle). Double blinks *after* you've armed the motors and pushed the throttle past 10% means your sticks aren't centered, but this now includes throttle, so that's fine. When you've got the throttle at 50%, you should get a single blink again.

The strange thing is in dont get the motors twitching when its trying trying to arm or should it not?

With Futaba radios, you know you have to reverse the throttle right? on the TX only. Also make sure your radio is in Acrobatic, no mixed and trims are all at zero.... before you go into the assistant. When in there, calibrate your sticks and when you use the throttle, it should move from left to right, left being throttle off, right would be adding throttle.

I also read once on here, before you write your settings to the Naza, set your throttle in the middle, so all sticks show green. Not sure why, but it is what I do every time now.

When you arm the motors, they should immediately spin up to the idle speed you set in the assistant software. If you don't push the throttle past 10% within 3 seconds, they'll stop again.

I'm assuming you've got all your transmitter channels going in the right direction? IE. Throttle right down should be all the way left in the assistant. Do you get all greens indicators when you do the transmitter calibration in the assistant, then put the sticks in the middle?

When you observe the flight modes indicator on screen, is it making the relevant section light up (blue or whatever....I'm colour blind, so it could be purple) for each mode?

Thanks guys will have a look at my settings again later on today and let you know how I got on .

Well after spending some more time on it today & the suggestions & idea's you have given, I"ve set it up as per some of the guides available on youtube & configured the t8j accordingly with end points adjusted to use the e channel switch to go between gps/ attitude & failsafe, naza assistant shows all correct with no errors, props attatched and test spun in correct direction 450 arms and disarms fine in intelligent mode. Test flight tomorrow which I'm very much looking forward too:)

Glad you got it sorted out.... could you let others know what you found wrong... Enjoy the flight tomorrow, just remember to punch the gas to get off the ground if in Atti Mode, they all tend to want to fly in some weird direction.

I did a number of things different, re calibrated the sticks in the assistant again but left the throttle centered when finished and then hit write to save it. checked all connections into the naza are fine and finally went through the t8j endpoint setup guide again as per some of the youtube videos.

cheers
