DJI Pilot update limit

I'm trying to find this out for a P3 Professional flyer. I don't have one myself. If you fail to update the DJI Pilot app soon enough does it stop you flying a) after a fixed time or b) after a fixed number of flights? I have no experience of using the app but I seem to remember that the P3 can be grounded if the upgrade isn't carried out promptly.
Any help would be appreciated.
