Need Help! DALRC F405 FC Betaflight Connection Issue

Hello All,

Somewhat new to the hobby - on my second build now and just wanting to get the GD thing up in the air! I wired up a DALRC F405 FC and "Engine" stack and went to program the FC with Betaflight 10.4.0. I was able to flash the latest firmware for the FC in DFU/Bootloader mode, but my CPU won't recognize the FC outside of DFU mode.

I followed the Project Blue Falcon "Making Flight Controller Connect Through USB" video to the letter.

That's an excellent video for anyone needing assistance with issues like this, btw. The only thing that I think I wasn't able to do exactly as he described was at the very end where he suggests you update the driver software of the FC under the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" connection in the Device Manager - when I look for the FC's driver, I can't find anything that matches up exactly, so I select the "STMicroelectronics Virtual Com Port (COM3)" driver in order to get it to appear in the Ports (COM & LPT) devices.

After all of that, I try connecting the FC to COM3 and Betaflight opens the port, says "No configuration received within 10 seconds, communication failed" and then closes the port again.

I know it's not a hardware malfunction because the FC fires right up when I connect it to either the USB or a LiPo, but I obviously can't get it to do anything b/c it's not configured yet.

Incredibly frustrated and in desperate need of some assistance. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Figured it out on my own. Apparently Windows 10 doesn't play nice with my FC and/or the drivers necessary to install it. I dusted off an old laptop with Windows 7 and, wouldn't you know, it fired right up! Annoying that I'll have to use only that computer until they find a fix, but at least I can get flying now... except there's snow on the ground here :(

I never did get it to appear on my Windows 10 computer, at least not outside of DFU mode. If you're talking about DFU mode, that's when you hold down the boot button and plug in the USB - if you have the right drivers, it should connect, but only to flash firmware.

I have followed all the tutorials I found, but neither on DFU mode it appears, I think I will have to downgrade the OS of my other Notebook to use it :( thanks bro
