Converting Futaba FF7 to 2.4gHz FASST compatible transmitter

I'm currently speccing up the components I need to build a F550 based setup and I'm coming to multi rotor after a few years out of the RC game. My old faithful transmitter is a 35mHz Futaba Field Force 7 (FP-7UPS) which I know can be converted to a 2.4gHz unit by replacing the TX module with a TM-7 unit.
My question is would this be a viable route if it was coupled with a suitable receiver for use with a Naza V2 GPS based F550 and if so what Futaba receiver would I need as the one which comes with the TM-7 is listed as a R617FS unit.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I ended up getting an FRSky TX module and receiver from GiantShark for £46. When stock frees up on the Taranis I'll grab one of those transmitters.
