Are smaller Quads harder to tune Multiwii?

Is a smaller quad a bad choice to try learning MultiWii?

Can't seem to get it. Either lifts off tilting wherever it wants to or stays "level" but oscillates like crazy.

Can't seem to find the "Happy Spot".

If it is tilting on lift off just a touch to try and correct it zooms the other way and does not go back to level. Then chasing it around to try and settle it down ends up in a flip over.

Are the components on that quad just junk?

Would a larger quad be easier to learn to tune, or harder?

Should you start with everything "OFF", like HORIZON, ANGLE, BARO, MAG and get it flying decent first?

I had it flying somewhat decent with a KK but it seemed to be hard to remain stationary in YAW and ALTITUDE so I wanted something with a MAG and BARO.

Is there some default PID settings that would get me up and flying or is there no way to say that for any given quad?

Should I just give up Quads and stick to Fixed Wing?:confused::mad:;)

To be honest it's not the best looking thing out there. I bet it would fly fairly well with a DJI Naza on it though. The cheaper flight controllers can be hard work.
